Ducking a hurricane
Harvey battered the US Gulf Coast, and that’s right where the Sasol ethane cracker project in Lake Charles is. As far as I can work out Lake Charles has been spared the worst of it, but the region is likely to still have received at least a few hundred millimetres of rain, and that’ll mean the project’s completion date will have to be moved up. The question is if Sasol factored floods of some sort into its completion target dates. At the time of writing, management had made no official statement on Sens, but reports are that work is restarting and damage was minimal.
