About Clifford Ross

Finweek English Edition - - On The Money -

Hobbies: Travel, photography, birding and hiking. I climbed Kilimanjaro with friends in 1996, and have others to climb on my bucket list.

Favourite holiday destinations: Waterberg and Hermanus. I also enjoyed the Serengeti greatly! During our recent visit there I got to understand why the lion is the king of the jungle. It’s no exaggeration. What book are you currently reading? What music are you listening to? Jeffery Deaver’s The Burial Hour. Musically, I enjoy anything by Katie Melua.

Maintaining family/work balance: Family is very important to me. When I’m home, I switch off. Problems are escalated to me only if nobody else can solve them. That’s seldom. I rarely miss dinner with my family (wife, two daughters and a son). When I’m at work I give my all, and usually start at 6AM and finish at 7PM. What alternative career would you have

pursued instead of hospitality? I would be a game

ranger or photographer.

Words to live by: Life is too short to sweat the small things.
