O­pen day at SCC an eye o­pe­ner

Le­ar­ners from T­hem­ba­let­hu High and I­mi­za­mo Yet­hu Se­con­da­ry Schools vi­si­ted the South Ca­pe T­vet Col­le­ge Ge­or­ge Cam­pus to at­tend the se­cond an­nu­al o­pen day on Wed­nes­day 30 Au­gust.

It was an eye o­pe­ner for the le­ar­ners to re­a­li­se that they can stu­dy full ti­me and re­la­te the qua­li­fi­ca­ti­on di­rect­ly to the in­du­stry of their choi­ce.

A­part from the ca­reer op­ti­ons a­vai­la­ble at the va­ri­ous cam­pu­ses, the le­ar­ners we­re al­so in­for­med a­bout the so­ci­al acti­vi­ties held on cam­pus and fi­nan­ci­al op­por­tu­ni­ties a­vai­la­ble to them on­ce they ha­ve de­ci­ded which qua­li­fi­ca­ti­on they want to a­cqui­re.

Next y­e­ar the col­le­ge is plan­ning to host all the high schools in the a­rea to in­stil the no­ti­on that the­re is a fu­tu­re in a qua­li­fi­ca­ti­on from a T­vet Col­le­ge in the com­mu­ni­ty.

A spe­ci­al thanks goes to the Saps, Ge­or­ge Mu­ni­ci­pa­li­ty Tou­rism Of­fi­ce and the schools for their sup­port in ma­king the o­pen day a success.
