Young and old from La­waai­kamp and T­hem­ba­let­hu held va­ri­ous e­vents to ce­le­bra­te Na­ti­o­nal He­ri­ta­ge Day, which is held an­nu­al­ly on 24 Sep­tem­ber. On t­his day e­ver­y­bo­dy is en­coura­ged to ce­le­bra­te their cul­tu­ral tra­di­ti­ons in the wi­der con­text of the gre­at di­ver­si­ty of cul­tu­res, be­liefs, and tra­di­ti­ons that ma­ke up the na­ti­on of South A­fri­ca.

At an e­vent on Sun­day 24 Sep­tem­ber or­ga­ni­sed in T­hem­ba­let­hu by Coun­cil­lor Faith M­da­ka (fourth from left), He­ri­ta­ge Day was ce­le­bra­ted in full cos­tu­me.

The I­siX­ho­sa tra­di­ti­o­nal out­fit main­ly worn by mar­ried wo­men was proud­ly dis­play­ed by No­ma Mtsha from T­hem­ba­let­hu.
