It looks like an ordinary backpack, but this rolltop, water-resistant backpack is actually a cleverly designed camera bag that can fit a mid-range DSLR camera with two lenses, a flash, a laptop and an overnight supply of clothing. We liked that the camera gear is accessed from the side, which meant we didn’t have to dig around, but even more impressive to us was the Covert’s adaptability (a feature that Thule backpacks excel in). The DSLR insert can be removed if you want to use the bag’s full capacity as a weekender pack, or just the camera padding can be removed, which gives you a twocompartment daypack. A highvisibility interior lining makes it easy to locate smaller accessories and there are multiple tripod carrying options. As with all Thule bags we’ve tested, the build-quality is exemplary – it’s a bag that’s made to last.
