ON STAGE This is the iconic SA mu­si­cal set in Sophi­a­town that made global stars of Miriam Makeba and Hugh Masekela. Nel­son Man­dela at­tended the open­ing night in 1959, and Time mag­a­zine hailed it as ‘a big event in theatri­cal his­tory’.
