MICELLAR WATER
Micellar water – a cleansing water infused with micelles (tiny oil molecules) to attract and dissolve dirt – was first introduced in France a century ago as a face-cleansing alternative to the country’s harsh tap water. But it has become high profile internationally since countertop versions made it accessible to all, explains dermatologist Dr Debra Luftman. The best part? You can cleanse without touching a basin, as no rinsing is needed.
USE IT WHEN
You want quick, effective results. But if you’re wearing water-resistant makeup or sunblock, stick to doublecleansing with an oil-based wash to get everything off.
