How to get Adele’s winged liner

Battling to get the perfect cat eye? Not any more! Adele’s makeup artist Michael Ashton tells us how he creates the most talked about wing.

Swipe black gel liner onto the back of your hand so you can get a thin coat of gel on a pointed liner brush.

“Go from the inner to outer corner of your eye, and start by working the gel into the roots of your lashes,” says Michael. Gradually build up the thickness on the outer three quarters. Don’t do the wing just yet.

Paint over the gel with waterproof liquid liner. “It’s key for intensity and opaqueness,” he says. Now, create the wing by flicking your line out towards your temple.

Using an earbud, sweep the end of the wing, moving upward at a 45 degree angle for that perfect feline flick.
