Who is behind the Day fashion brand?

NITSA It’s the brainchild of Keld Mikkelsen, a Danish designer who wanted to blend beautiful, ethnic influences from his travels with vintage touches and Scandinavian simplicity. The first store opened in Copenhagen in 1997. Now Day is a global brand, with homeware and accessory lines, too.

What inspired the new Day collection?

India, with its ancient tradition of handcrafting and beautiful textiles, as seen in the embroidery, beading and prints.

And the must-haves?

Look for special pieces that you can layer: a paisley tunic, chambray shirt with metallic embroidery and an asymmetrical dress.

What are the staples?

The tunic is a Day essential: it’s perfect to dress up or down, and can be styled with jeans and heels, or shorts and sneakers. A silk maxidress also works over your bathing costume or worn to a dinner party.

Who wears Day?

Imagine a sophisticated, modern gypsy, and you have the independent, creative Day woman. The 2nd Day line is fashion forward, daring and playful.
