DON’T you just love a man who can sing?

TIMO ODV is striking a chord.

Timothy Oude Vrielink, aka TIMO ODV, has always loved music. “I walked around with a tape player when I was five, listening to Backstreet Boys,” reveals the 26 year old.

So it made perfect sense that this huge music fan would eventually start playing around with DJ software. “When I was 21, a friend showed me the basics, and then I taught myself using Youtube videos. I just knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life,” he says.

And it turns out that was a great decision. His first single, ‘Save me’ featuring Sarah Jackson, was radio’s most-played song last year, and TIMO released his debut EP Origins in September. “It’s more artistic and dirtier than my other work. I had to take a break from radio hits and be more creative,” he explains.

Now with a SAMA nomination for Record of the Year and ongoing gig requests, TIMO is really getting noticed. “I was walking through V&A Waterfront in Cape Town a few weeks ago, and a group of kids started screaming and chasing me. As a Joburg East Rand boy, that’s crazy. I’m very chilled. I’m never like, ‘Here I am, give me attention!’” he laughs.

Singer, producer, DJ and humble. We can’t wait to hear more from the electronic dance music sensation. Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campbell, Bar Refaeli, Miranda Kerr, Demi Moore, Claire Danes, Blake Lively… – Leo sure likes pretty ladies.
