ctor, model and TV presenter, Chris Jaftha is charismatic, charming and incredibly comfortable in front of the camera – and the more we see of him, the better! After graduating from Joburg’s National School of the Arts, the 32 year old did volunteer work for the non-profit organisation Youth for Christ. For two and a half years, he travelled through Africa, Europe and the US raising money for HIV/AIDS orphanages through theatre, and in 2005, he moved to LA to study at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting. On his return to SA in 2007, he bagged the lead in SA’S longest running musical African Footprint, and he’s been in demand ever since, with roles in Dirty Dancing, Footloose, Mamma Mia! and Aladdin. He’s also sizzled on screen in Isidingo, High Rollers and Roer Jou Voete, and as a Top Billing presenter. So don’t miss the chance to see Chris on stage right now, as he reprises his role as Bernardo in West Side Story at the Mandela Theatre in Joburg from 24 January 2017. Hot? You bet!
