DO love Kather­ine-Mary Pichu­lik

The cre­ator of cult jew­ellery la­bel Pichu­lik, is fu­elled by her pas­sion for de­sign.

“I’ve loved art and hand­craft since child­hood,” says Kather­ine-mary Pichu­lik. It’s no won­der then that she be­gan her ac­claimed SA brand af­ter be­ing con­stantly stopped on the street by peo­ple want­ing to buy jew­ellery that she had cre­ated off her neck!

Kather­ine-mary, 30, stud­ied both art and pas­try-mak­ing, and worked as a chef be­fore re­al­is­ing that her hobby could be­come a ca­reer when her jew­ellery fea­tured on miss­moss.co.za.” The at­ten­tion led to a Fash­ion Week col­lab­o­ra­tion with La­lesso, putting her brand on the map.

Since then, Pichu­lik has opened two SA stores, at­tracted 25 global stock­ists, fea­tured in Vogue Italy and UK, and at­tracted fans like Solange Knowles and Emma Wat­son.

Through all of this, her child­hood love of art and craft, pas­sion for em­pow­er­ing women and de­vo­tion to her team have en­sured that her work is both in­clu­sive and unique.

“When you’re so close to a brand, you don’t see the great leaps,” she says. “But when I get to stand back and see what we’ve cre­ated, it feels re­ally good!”
