Star letter We love to receive your emails and letters. Here’s this month’s favourite.

“I read ‘So… kids?’ (March 2017) again and again. Then my husband was intrigued, so I read it again! As a married woman in my late 30s, I’m regularly inundated with questions about when I’m going to have kids – which often triggers ‘None of your business’ in reply.

We live in an age when it’s possible to choose when to have children, and whether to have them at all. But we’re culturally and socially brainwashed into ideologies about when certain things should happen. Only by overcoming this mindset can we be truly individualistic about our decisions and our wombs.

At the end of the day, what works for one person may not work for another, and not everyone is maternal. It’s all about making choices.” – Magda Liedeman-vaas, via email
