Nude lip colour

To test shades, “Hold them near your face or swipe on your jawline,” says Sir John, Beyoncé’s makeup guy and L’oréal Paris artist. For skins on the light side, peachy-beige shades amp up golden undertones. For cooler skin, try pinky-nude. Medium-tone skin (like Kerry Washington), should try caramel and rosy-brown lipstick. Dark skin looks great in sepia, chocolate and mocha, all shades with a hint of red, orange or golden flecks. “Steer clear of matte brown lipstick. It reads like foundation on your lips,” adds Nick. Try Sir John’s trick: “Put one colour on your top lip, and a different one on the bottom, then mash your lips together.”
