REMEMBER THESE THINGS AT THE BORDER

Go! Camp & Drive - - Destination | Southern Angola -

Things can go very slowly at the border and the officials are strict, so save yourself a lot of headache by having the following ready:

• Your passport • A valid tourist visa • A yellow fever certificate • You driver’s licence • An invitation letter from an Angolan resident or place of accommodation. This letter is part of your visa application but you should bring it with you nevertheless. • Your vehicle’s registration documents and a permission letter from the bank or rental company if the vehicle is not in your name. • Cash in Angolan currency (kwanza) for road tax of KZ6336 (about R530). • Copies of all of the above documents. Bring multiple copies and preferably in black and white rather than colour.

Do not bring any self-defence items like pepper spray, tazers, unusually large hunting knives, etc. to the Angolan border. It’s considered weapons and can be confiscated or cause trouble for you.
