Only use heaters and ovens specially designed for use in your caravan. Never use your gas oven as a heater. Check all connections for leaks before opening the gas cylinder.
Regularly check all washers and O-rings on appliances, cylinders and regulators. Adjust burners accordingly: There’s no need for giant flames if all you’re making is a pot of coffee. Use gas-fuelled items in well-ventilated areas only. Do not open the cylinder until you’re ready to ignite. go! Drive & Camp says According to the law (SANS 10087), in instances where a mobile unit is made with occupancy in mind, such as a trailer or caravan, an LPgas cylinder is only to be stored in a recess or compartment that is airtight to the inside and vented and accessible to the outside. The law also states that the cylinder should be secured in such a way that when a force equalling that of four times its filled mass is applied to it in any direction, it should not become dislodged.
