All quiet on the North Western front

Go! Camp & Drive - - Reel & Wheel -

The Buffelspoort Dam lies just outside Mooinooi, right next to the Maanhaarrand road. The dam lies in front of you as you drive through the gate. The opposite bank is roughly half a kilometre away, and the waters stretches for 3 km to either side with the dam wall at the far left. The campsite is near the wall and stretches about a kilometre along the bank. The stands with electricity are front left and most of them are on mowed lawn – all have their own braai. Twenty of them are right on the water and are clearly marked. Angling from these spots is only allowed during winter months but you’re allowed to fish year-round from the stands further down the bank. There are two bathrooms. One is located near the centre, between the stands with electricity. There’s a scullery area and spacious shower cubicles. On the far side, away from the gate, there is another ablution facility for those camping without electricity on the large lawn area.
