Yes, you can take along pliers, a pair of big scissors, wire-cutters and a hefty saw, or simply take along (on your belt) your all-in-one multi-tool. What type? Leatherman and Gerber are the best-known ones but, of course, you will pay for the name as well. Be wary of cheap imitations. They may look like the real deal, but the steel isn’t as strong and the mechanisms don’t work as smoothly. These guys will leave you in the lurch sooner than later.
