Artists step in to help charity
YOU can look forward to seeing some of the most spectacular works of East London artists on display at the Port Rex Lion’s Club art exhibition for charity.
The exhibition will be held at the museum’s Courtenay-Latimer Hall from Friday until October 3.
During this time, art lovers will get to view and purchase any of the pieces.
Art lover Nelson Restom will be opening the exhibition. Viewing on weekdays will be from 10am to 5pm and over the weekend from 10am to 4pm.
“Exactly 50 artists from East London will be showcasing their work this year,” Rex Lions’ club secretary Elizabeth Avoni said.
“Art lovers can expect to see beautiful pieces from paintings to sculptures among other works.
“This is a perfect opportunity for local artists to showcase their talent while also contributing to charity,” Avoni said.
“The club encourages artists from East London to view and join the exhibition.”
The proceeds will be donated to St Bernard’s Hospice.
“The club invites everyone to come by to support our local artists while helping raise money for St Bernard’s,” Avoni said.
