Border U12s proud of WP victory
THE Border under-12 rugby team recently returned from participating at this year's Coastal Provincial U12 Tournament in Riversdale. Even though the team ded not come out victorius, they played four games and managed to beat Western Province (WP). "This was our biggest game because WP have not been beaten in 10 years," Border coach Lwazi Zangqa said. Zangqa said they only had three weeks to prepare for the tournament while other teams had three months. "Having won one game out of four is not bad. Our game with WP has to be one of our biggest games and I am proud of the boys," he said. The Border boys came from Selborne College, Hudson Park Primary, Stirling Primary, Queens College and Dale College. "Going into the game, the boys were nervous but having won that one game was very special for them and it is something we are going to treasure in our hearts forever. I was glad to have been part of that," Zangqa said. One of the parents, Craig Maree, said it was an honour for the boys to have participated in the tournament. "They learnt a lot and these lessons will prepare them for Craven Week next year."
