FORMER Kingsridge High School pupil Asanda Sizani was recently appointed editor-in- chief of Glamour Magazine, a monthly publication dedicated to fashion and lifestyle.

Not only will Sizani be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the magazine, she has also been given the challenge of developing a fresh new vision for Glamour going forward, in order to reach out to a new, diverse audience.

“I am honoured and humbled to be taking up the mantle of editor-in-chief of Glamour at such a pivotal time for all women's voices,” Sizani said.

Asanda's career in magazine journalism has certainly prepared her for this important role.

She has cut her teeth at major publications such as Woolworth’s Wmag and Destiny, while also making waves as the youngest fashion editor at Drum and the first black fashion editor at Elle.

Also, in 2013, Sizani was curator for the Design Indaba Conference in Cape Town and was also a member of the Berlin UP Fashion Committee, a group which helps promote trade between Germany and African designers.
