• We built a double basin fountain (see sketch) with the following measuremen­ts: – outer basin: 2 300mm x 1 800mm (height 400mm) – inner basin: 1 900mm x 1 100mm (height 600mm)

• As the fountainhe­ad we used a concrete statue made by Xolile Williams in Cape Town

SHOPPING LIST

These materials and quantities are for this specific fountain. Adapt them according to the shape and size of your fountain. • 6 bags of cement • 0,6m3 sand • 0,2m3 stone • leftover chicken mesh • 350 concrete bricks • 2 bags (25kg each) of lime (for plaster) • waterproof­ing agent (we used 2kg of Concrim) • 1,5m length of 22mm copper pipe, cut into the following lengths: 1 x 300mm (spout) 6 x 200mm (overflow)

FRONT ELEVATION

• 1m length of 15mm Polycop (to connect the pump to the fountain spout) • 150mm length of 22mm Polycop with end stopper (for the outlet) • 1m length of 22mm clear plastic • 1 x 100W solar module* • 1 x 15A 12V solar charge controller with LED battery level*

GROUND PLAN

• 1 x 24aH 12V battery* • 12V DC submersibl­e pump • 1 bag (20kg) of Marbelite
