“This herb is indispensable, especially in the Western Cape winter. It grows right through the winter and is a wonderful source of greens when other plants are taking strain. Bees love its star-shaped blue or pink flowers. The leaves are hairy, but edible and good for you.”
“This is one of the first flowers to greet the spring, and the edible part is delicious. The huge leaves make good compost or mulch.”
