Win with your handicraft

Ceramics, beadwork, wirework, woodwork, jewellery, paper art, fabric painting and printing, leatherwork, quilting, glasswork, embroidery… Are you someone who expresses their cultural heritage through contemporary craftwork? Then you should act fast and enter the inaugural National Craft Competition, announced by the Innibos Laeveld Nasionale Kunstefees, before 31 March. The winner, who will be chosen by the creative management team of the festival and an expert judging panel, will receive R50 000, the runner-up R30 000 and the second runner-up R15 000. There will also be merit awards for the best up-and-coming craft artists. • To enter, submit a photo of your work, taken with a standard-size matchbox next to it to help the judges assess scale.
