Fill your cool box at the Kalahari Vleishuis

Patrys van der Merwe has been running this butchery in Keimoes for the past 15 years; she’s the third-generation butcher in her family, selling free-range meat, biltong and droëwors from the Hardeveld and the Kalahari. The Vleishuis is probably best known for its deboned, marinated “Flip se Rib” (R135/kg) and “Flippen boud” (R145/kg) – lots of people stock up on their way deeper into the Kalahari. The butchery is on the R27 next to the BP filling station as you enter Keimoes from the Kenhardt side. Opening times: Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm; Saturday from 8 am to 1 pm.
