Fraserburg will see us again – soon

go! - - Upfront Letters -

To quote from the article about Fraserburg in your August issue: “It’s not the kind of town you happen across by accident – if you’re here, you came here for a reason.” And indeed we did go there for a reason, although when we first drove through we didn’t know what that reason would be… We were on a road trip from Mokala Game Reserve near Kimberley to see the stars in Sutherland in mid-winter. We had just driven through Fraserburg when we had a tyre blowout. We stopped and changed the wheel. We’d just got going again when another tyre gave way. We loaded the two stricken wheels into the boot of our friends’ vehicle and drove back to Fraserburg to find help. The answer to our prayers was KaRoux garage. Owner Herman le Roux and his son Herold rummaged through the second-hand tyres stored in the roof of the workshop and found us two of the correct size to help us on our way. It was a unanimous decision to visit Fraserburg again soon. What a lovely, friendly town, perfectly positioned in the middle of nowhere! PENNY LUCAS, Edenvale
