NAMAQUA CHAMELEON

-

Early in the day, the skin of the Namaqua chameleon is dark to absorb as much energy from the sun as possible. (Dark colours absorb more light and therefore more heat.) But later in the afternoon when it’s scorching hot, the chameleon changes its skin to a lighter colour to reflect as much heat as possible. This is the fastest chameleon on earth – it can move at 3 km/h!
