WHAT DOES NATIONAL PARK ENTRY COST IN TANZANIA?
A lot, because you’ll be paying in US dollars. Ruaha, Mikumi, Katavi and Mkomazi are in the cheaper category: US$36 (R483) per person per day (kids under 16 get discount). Arusha, Tarangire and Lake Manyara are pricier: US$53 (R711) per person per day. The flagship park – Serengeti – costs US$71 (R952) per person per day. At all parks, vehicle entry costs US$48 (R644) per day and camping starts from US$36 (R483) per person. Some parks have cheap rondavels (called bandas) that can cost about the same as camping. Note: These prices include 18 % VAT (non-refundable). You can usually pay using your credit card at the entrance gate. tanzaniaparks.go.tz (See page 36 for info about Ngorongoro – it’s not a national park.)
