Most wetsuits are neoprene – a synthetic rubber usually made from petroleumoleumbased substances. The environmentally mentally friendly alternative is Patagonia’s ia’s proprietary Yulex: a blend of 85 % natural rubber from sustainable e sources and 15 % chlorine-free synthetic c rubber. Yulex has the same insulating properties as neoprene, but Patagonia says s that the manufacturing process is much better for the planet. It’s also a simply brilliant wetsuit, with a form-fitting cut, good stretch retch in movement areas, a replaceable e zipper to extend the lifespan of the suit, uit, and extra-durable knee pads and ankle cuffs. It’s designed for surfing, but it will work for any active water sports. rts. The suit is available with or without a hood and in various thicknesses for water temperatures ranging from 3 – 16° C.
