Golf Digest (South Africa) - - Contents 12/ 14 - TOM WATSON is a Golf Digest Playing Editor.

My best lessons for getting a kid into golf.

With most beginners, the easiest way to teach them the game is to start with the shortest swing – the putting stroke. Get them to develop distance control by having them putt balls to different holes on the practice green. Once they get good at consistently judging distance when they roll putts, strokes will come off their scorecards pretty fast.
