WHAT’S IN MY BAG
Kevin Chappell’s new Nike driver.
specs Nike Vapor Pro, 9.5˚, Aldila Rogue X-flex shaft, 75 grams, just under 45 inches It wasn’t hard switching drivers. After testing clubs, I found my optimal ball flight using the same specs in my Covert driver. This has a similar-looking head, but I’m more accurate with it.
specs Nike Vapor Speed, 15˚ and 19˚, Aldila Tour Blue shafts (3-wood: 85 grams, 5-wood: 95 grams) On par 5s it was rare for me to hit 3-wood on my second shot. But I launch this model high, so I can stop it easier. I put both in play in October.
PROTECT AND SERVE
This is Champ, my charity’s mascot. Using this headcover is a symbol of my passion for giving back. You, too, can support Kevin Chappell Champion for Children’s by buying your own Winning Edge Designs headcover.
This is a ball marker from Whisper Rock. It’s one of the places we play in Scottsdale. I’ll tee it up with other pros there such as Chez Reavie, Geoff Ogilvy, Bryce Molder or Kevin Stadler.
specs Nike Vapor Pro Combo 3-iron, Vapor Pro 4- through 9-iron, True Temper Dynamic Gold X100 shafts The thin topline and classic look of these irons are similar to my old irons, so it was easy to change.
IT’S LINE TIME
Before I start my days at the course, I’ll mark my Nike RZN Platinum balls with a black line. It has become part of my routine.
specs Nike Method prototype, 33 inches, 2.5˚, 72˚ lie angle The guys at Nike made me this putter, which is a close match to the model I used when I first turned pro. I switch between a Super-Stroke grip and a pistol version.
specs Nike VR X3X (46˚), Nike VR Pro Dual Sole (54˚), Nike VR Pro (60˚), True Temper Dynamic Gold S400 shafts I’ve played these the past four years. I love the soft feel.
