WILD WEEK IN UGANDA
Did you hear the one about the members of the South African team who missed the bus from their hotel to Kampala GC in Uganda and hitched a ride there on motorbikes? Overshadowed by South Africa failing to win the African Zone VI tournament, for only the third time since they began competing in 1993, were the unreliable transport arrangements. Missing the bus prevented Teaghan Gauche from making his final day tee time, and his subsequent disqualification (along with a Namibian) gave the host nation a historic victory.
