NORRIS TRIUMPHS ON ASIAN TOUR
Sunshine Tour veteran Shaun Norris, 33, often plays his best golf in big tournaments, and in adverse conditions, and he proved that again by winning on the Asian Tour in October. It’s his rookie year in Asia, and the Silver Lakes resident (below) won the Yeangder TPC in Taiwan with a 12under total of 204 (three 68s). That was worth $90 000, which makes playing in Asia this year a good decision on his part. “I always joke with my family and friends that I play better in the worst conditions,” said Norris, who battled swirling winds in a weather-shortened event. His previous two wins, both on the Sunshine Tour, came in the 2008 Africa Open at Fish River, and 2011 Nashua Masters at the Wild Coast.
