‘I’M NOT GOING TO STOP HAVING FUN AND TAKING RISKS’
WHY THE DRIVING RANGE IS OVERRATED LOOK AT THE HOLE WHEN YOU PUTT
I’M NOT GOING to stop doing things I enjoy because I might get injured and jeopardise my career. That’s said within reason of course, but how I broke my ankle really was quite a freak accident, along with some misjudgment as a rookie surfer.
I HAD FIVE WEEKS off after the Wyndham Championship in August in America (I got into that event after finishing T-7 at the PGA Championship the previous week) and felt like I needed to detach myself from the game. I’d always wanted to go on a surfing holiday to Bali. Two friends were already there, so I booked a ticket on a whim and went there. The waves were too big on the first day, but the next day I was out there at 10am eager to hit the waves.
