Englishman Andy Sullivan returns to Glendower from January 7-10 to defend the 105th BMW SA Open. He was 149th in the World Ranking when he triumphed last year in a playoff over Charl Schwartzel, and had risen to No 34 by early December. Sullivan’s great year in 2015 on the European Tour was kick-started early last year by his two SA victories, the other being the Joburg Open. He later won the Portugal Masters, and finished eighth in the Race to Dubai. Schwartzel will again be at Glendower, seeking his first SA Open triumph. Tournament host Ernie Els (right, with Sullivan and Executive Mayor of the City of Ekurhuleni Mondli Gungubele) will be playing, and most likely Louis Oosthuizen and Branden Grace.
