LYDIA KO’S HISTORIC YEAR
Lydia Ko is still 18, but she dominated the LPGA Tour in 2015, winning Player of the Year honours, the money title, and the season-long Race to the CME Globe $1 million bonus. With five wins during the year, including her first major and the CME Group Tour Championship, Ko has maintained the season-ending No 1 spot in the Rolex Rankings. Inbee Park, second to Ko in all the other categories (she was also a five-time winner in 2015), won the Vare Trophy for lowest scoring average. Ko joins Nancy Lopez, Beth Daniel and Annika Sorenstam as the only players to win rookie of the year and follow it with POY the next season. She now has 10 career LPGA wins, breaking Lopez’s record for the fastest to get to 10 wins.
