ITwas a memorable Christmas Day for the James family in Pietermaritzburg when proud father Mike posed with his two sons Elton and Butch in their respective green and gold blazers. Elton (41) become the third member of the James family to represent SA (in three different sports) when he was selected for the four-man SA Mid-Amateur golf team in France last July. Mike James, who played for Maritzburg FC in the National Football League, captained the SA soccer team in 1977. South Africa had been briefly re-instated by FIFA that year and a multi-racial team was selected to play two games against Rhodesia, plus a British All-Star team that included George Best, Bobby Moore, Jack Charlton and Geoff Hurst. Butch (37) played 42 Tests for the Springboks (2001-2011) and was the winning flyhalf at the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France.
