The new el­e­vated global sta­tus of the NGC comes with new ini­tia­tives for fans.

“The tour­na­ment has changed dra­mat­i­cally and grown im­mensely, and we are mak­ing sev­eral changes to re­flect this at Sun City,” said Dan Sevel, Sun In­ter­na­tional’s Sports Mar­ket­ing Man­ager who will from 2017 take over as head of the $7-mil­lion tour­na­ment. “We are cre­at­ing a more holis­tic ex­pe­ri­ence for the golf fan, start­ing with a new fan ex­pe­ri­ence at the main gate, where fans can en­joy in­di­vid­ual ex­pe­ri­ences along a golf board­walk.”

Tour­na­ment di­rec­tor Alas­tair Roper says the big­ger field has pre­sented him with an op­por­tu­nity to widen the view­ing fo­cus for fans across all the holes on the course, and not just the ninth and 18th.

Sevel says that the Sun City En­ter­tain­ment Cen­tre has gone through a dra­matic change to mod­ernise the com­plex.
