KYLE MCCLATCHIE Mpumalanga Open, Mid­del­burg CC SCORES: 68-69-66-69 (272) RUN­NER-UP: Dy­lan Kok 65-68-68-71 (272) HOW HE DID IT: It was back-to-back wins for McClatchie (Serengeti) when he fol­lowed up his suc­cess in the KZN Am­a­teur with vic­tory at Mid­del­burg. Wood­hill’s Dy­lan Kok led for each of the first three rounds, hav­ing opened with a 65, but McClatchie tied Kok with a clos­ing 69 in the fi­nal round to force a play­off, which he won. McClatchie had 22 birdies and an ea­gle, against Kok’s 20 birdies and an ea­gle. NO­TABLE: McClatchie, who turned 19 in May, con­tin­ues to be the top per­former in am­a­teur golf this year, hav­ing won three ti­tles – the other was the Boland Open – plus be­ing run­ner-up in the Free State Open and African Am­a­teur, and hav­ing third place fin­ishes in the Lim­popo and Bor­der Opens.
