Francois le Roux, 56 (De Zalze), claimed his 17th vic­tory on the se­nior cir­cuit by win­ning the West­ern Prov­ince Se­nior Open for a third time, with 70-74 at King David Mow­bray, from Mzuyanda Zin­gela (Walmer CC 72-75). Su­per Se­nior Adrian Kriel, 62 (Win­gate Park), en­joyed his first win since 2015 in the Winelands Se­nior Open (72-71) at De Zalze, by two from Steve Williams, An­dre van Dyk and Stephen John­ston.

Greg Glee­son, 54 (Kyalami), again came up trumps in a play­off in the Cen­tral Gaut­eng Se­nior Open at Ruim­sig (75-67), beat­ing home club mem­ber Stephen John­ston (70-72) in sud­den-death. He had done the same in the Gaut­eng North Open.

An­dre van Dyk, 51 (Lange­baan 75-77), is No 2 on the na­tional se­nior rank­ings af­ter win­ning the Se­nior Play­ers at Gary Player CC by one from Rurik Go­bel (Rand­park 76-77). Van Dyk was run­nerup in the Winelands, and T-3 in the WP Open.

Kevin Sharp (Mod­der­fontein) made it two straight Mid-Am­a­teur wins, and rose to No 4 on the na­tional rank­ings, when he shot 66-71 at State Mines, with 11 birdies and two eagles, to win the Ekurhu­leni ti­tle by three from Alex van Heer­den (Win­gate Park 69-71).

Shaun Sta­ple­ton (Wanderers) won the Gaut­eng North Mid-Am at Irene CC (70) by one from home club mem­ber Francois Pre­to­rius.
