‘Is there a “right” way to clean marks on carpets?’

Good Housekeeping (South Africa) - - EXPERT ADVICE -

Definitely! Many carpets are a wool and man-madefibre blend, and if you treat them roughly (using a scrubbing brush or rubbing with a cloth, for example), you’re likely to damage them and have scuffed, tufty areas. The best thing to do is to create foam, then, using a sponge, dab the foam onto the area. Allow it to penetrate but not dry. Now, dab at the mark with a white towel, using a clean section each time you dab – you’ll be able to see the dirt transferring onto the towel. Allow to dry, then vacuum to lift remaining dirt. Restore the pile. TRY: Plush Supreme Carpet Foam Stain Remover, R49,99
