‘I’m stuck in a haircut rut.’

Good Housekeeping (South Africa) - - FOR LONG HAIR: FOR MEDIUM HAIR: FOR SHORT HAIR: - (Source: John D, TRESemmé stylist)

SOLUTION: No need for a big chop to refresh your style – these tweaks, tailored to your length, will up its chic factor fast.

For long hair: Ask your stylist to cut soft layers from the middle to the ends of hair, which will add movement and volume. Prep damp hair with mousse before drying to boost fullness. For medium hair: Request face-framing layers (think a long fringe blended into front sections of hair) for a more textured vibe. Let the front pieces loose when you pull your hair up for a carefree effect. For short hair: Snip a little fringe! Ask for a choppy, side-swept fringe to emphasise your eyes and face shape. Tousle with a spritz of dry shampoo.
