Num­ber one: stop smok­ing (or never start). ‘Smok­ing has been im­pli­cated in at least 13 can­cers, in­clud­ing lung, pan­cre­atic, oe­sophageal, breast and blad­der,’ says Dr Les­lie Kohman, a sur­geon and can­cer spe­cial­ist. Re­gard­less of whether or not you have ever smoked, main­tain­ing a healthy plant-based diet and reg­u­larly ex­er­cis­ing have been linked to cut­ting your risk too.
