Kindness is So Worth it Why good deeds are good for you
You may not get flowers when you pour your partner a cup of coffee, but you do benefit from those small acts, says a recent study at the University of Rochester in the US. Subjects felt happier on the days they went out of their way for loved ones, even if their generosity flew under the radar. ‘Just doing a good deed, not the validation you receive, can make your life feel more meaningful,’ says study author Dr Harry Reis. So keep it up, because there’s no limit to warm and fuzzy feelings.
