That’s Genius! Treats, tools and titbits
1 Cleaning a cast-iron pan with a handful of salt removes debris but keeps the essential seasoning intact.
2 A pinch of salt thrown into the pan when sweating onions on a low heat will prevent them from burning.
3 Serve shucked oysters or devilled eggs on a bed of coarse salt. This prevents them from tipping over and if a little is ingested it doesn’t interfere with the flavours.
