‘Have you noticed how the T-shirts you buy nowadays wear so much quicker? How can I prevent this?’

Good Housekeeping (South Africa) - - EXPERT ADVICE -

YES, WE HAVE! Many of today’s T-shirt fabrics are much softer and sheerer than in the past, and so they wear quicker. Buttons and studs on jeans and pants are the most common culprits for those tiny holes you find, but a wash cycle that’s too hot and too long can also place unnecessary pressure on delicate fabrics. If they’re not too dirty, consider washing sheerer shirts on the delicates cycle.
