Gourmet (South Africa) - - CULINARY ESCAPE -

Local celebrity chef gregory Bazire expands his culinary oeuvre with this serene, sea-facing anjuna cafe that proffers mostly organic fare, with a focus on fresh produce. Try the fresh fruit smoothies and the all-day breakfast. The croque monsieur, char cheese risotto and smoky lamb burger are all great. Fortunately, there’s also a sangolda branch and another one in ashvem. But the one in anjuna is the best.

gregorybazire.com serves up some truly excellent Korean cuisine, as well as sushi rolls and goan-style shellfish dishes. The languorous, somewhat generic ambience and decor belie the high quality of food served here. It’s well worth a visit even if all you eat are the superb Jurassic crab and kimchi.

serve equal portions of savoirfaire and French fusion fare at this trendy all-day bistro that’s beautifully located right on ashvem Beach. The menu’s heavy on terrines and gratins, but give the beef carpaccio and the sesame-crusted tuna fillet your undivided attention. La Plage’s famed chocolate thali is as delicious as it is decadent. during high season, it’s advisable to reserve a table in advance.
