Lo­cal WRSA c­hap­ter hos­ts success­ful in­for­ma­ti­on day

GRAAFF-REI­NET — An in­for­ma­ti­on day on ‘De­ve­lo­ping a Ka­roo ga­me farm’ was re­cent­ly hos­ted by Wild­li­fe Ran­ching SA Ka­roo: Graaff-rei­net C­ham­ber in con­juncti­on with Geo Wild on the Riet­vlei E­sta­te ne­ar Graaff-rei­net.

WRSA is the na­ti­o­nal wild­li­fe ran­ching or­ga­ni­sa­ti­on com­pri­sing in­di­vi­du­als in the wild­li­fe in­du­stry. The WRSA’S strength lies in its mem­bers in­clu­ding lan­do­w­ners with an in­te­rest in the ga­me, ga­me ran­chers, pro­fes­si­o­nal hun­ters, hun­ting out­fit­ters, tax­i­der­mis­ts, ga­me re­ser­ves and mixed far­mers.

Or­ga­ni­sers we­re very ple­a­sed with the turn-out on the day and no­ted w­hat a per­fect ve­nue - as well as stu­dy ca­se for the dis­cus­si­on of de­ve­lo­ping a new Ka­roo ga­me farm - the his­to­ric farm Riet­vlei of Ri­chardt and Ly­ell van Rens­burg tur­ned out to be.

The new le­a­ders­hip for the or­ga­ni­sa­ti­on was al­so vo­ted in at the meet­ing.

The new chair­man for the WRSA Ka­roo: Graaff-rei­net C­ham­ber is Chris Nor­tje (Buc­ca­ra Wild­li­fe Re­ser­ve).

He will be sup­por­ted by vi­ce-chair­man Kat­ja­na Ho­skin Ott from G­lenn Har­ry Ga­me Re­ser­ve and mar­ke­ting chair­man Mor­ne Ter­blan­che from the Sum­mit Wild­li­fe Group.
