GRAAFF-REINET — The Ka­roo Wi­ne Club will be hos­ting the Axe Hill Ste­ak Out this Thursday, No­vem­ber 16, at 51 Cra­dock S­treet.

The­re are still a few spa­ces a­vai­la­ble, ple­a­se e­mail to book.

Host, chef Gor­don W­rig­ht has been ageing va­ri­ous top end and u­nu­su­al veld- re­a­red ste­aks for the e­ve­ning, u­sing in­te­res­ting cuts such as han­ger, tip, bla­de and New York strip ste­aks.

T­he­se will pair i­de­al­ly with Mi­ke Nee­be’s u­nu­su­al reds: “Mi­ke ma­kes a me­an red, and Gor­don a me­an ste­ak,” ent­hu­sed Ro­se W­rig­ht!

Mi­ke u­ses Por­tu­gue­se va­ri­e­tals such as Tou­ri­ga Na­ci­o­nal, Tin­ta Bar­ro­ca and Souz?o to ma­ke his in­te­res­ting blends. He has pro­mi­sed to bring big me­a­ty reds to go with the ste­ak, and gue­sts will al­so be in for a sur­pri­se or two too.

The cost is R150 for mem­bers and R180 for non-mem­bers.
