A good night for a steak-out..
GRAAFF-REINET — The Karoo Wine Club will be hosting the Axe Hill Steak Out this Thursday, November 16, at 51 Cradock Street.
There are still a few spaces available, please email to book.
Host, chef Gordon Wright has been ageing various top end and unusual veld- reared steaks for the evening, using interesting cuts such as hanger, tip, blade and New York strip steaks.
These will pair ideally with Mike Neebe’s unusual reds: “Mike makes a mean red, and Gordon a mean steak,” enthused Rose Wright!
Mike uses Portuguese varietals such as Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca and Souz?o to make his interesting blends. He has promised to bring big meaty reds to go with the steak, and guests will also be in for a surprise or two too.
The evening starts at 19:00. At the time of going to press, there were still a few places available, so anyone interested is asked to contact Rose Wright at karoowineclub@ gmail.com as soon as possible.
The cost is R150 for members and R180 for non-members.
