Sta­ti­on Com­man­der ur­ge Middelburg re­si­dents to re­main vi­gi­lant

MIDDELBURG NEWS - Du­ring this ti­me of the y­e­ar, the­re will be an in­cre­a­se in the mo­vement of pe­op­le in­to and out of Middelburg.

In a re­le­a­se is­su­ed e­ar­lier this week, Lt Col L O­li­vier Sta­ti­on Com­man­der of the Middelburg po­li­ce sta­ted that they are com­mit­ted to con­ti­nue de­ve­lo­ping and en­han­cing stra­te­gies, and im­ple­menting spe­ci­fic plans to fig­ht cri­me in col­la­bo­ra­ti­on with ot­her sta­ke­hol­ders and law a­bi­ding ci­ti­zens.

The re­le­a­se furt­her sta­ted, “The sa­fe­ty of our ci­ti­zens will re­main pri­o­ri­ty for mem­bers of the South A­fri­can Po­li­ce Ser­vi­ce, with spe­ci­al fo­cus on in­ten­si­fied po­li­ce vi­si­bi­li­ty. In­cre­a­sed in­tel­li­gen­ce-dri­ven and high vi­si­bi­li­ty o­pe­ra­ti­ons in hots­pot a­re­as will be con­ducted to en­su­re that we main­tain pu­blic or­der pro­tect and ser­ve the in­ha­bi­tants of South A­fri­ca and their pro­per­ty, by up­hol­ding and en­for­cing the law.”

The Sta­ti­on Com­man­der, Lt Col O­li­vier furt­her ur­ged the Middelburg com­mu­ni­ty to re­main vi­gi­lant du­ring the fes­ti­ve se­a­son and to exe­r­ci­se cau­ti­on w­hen ce­le­bra­ting and to do so re­spon­si­bly.

“Ex­tra pre­cau­ti­o­na­ry me­a­su­res must be ta­ken w­hen vi­si­ting the pla­ces w­he­re al­co­hol is sold and con­su­med.

We would al­so on­ce a­gain want to ur­ge mo­to­ris­ts to exe­r­ci­se ex­tre­me cau­ti­on w­hi­le dri­ving and to be on the look­out for pe­de­stri­ans.”
